This postcard has been collected by me at ZooArt, Cuneo, in 2006 and was part of the work of Michele Cantamessa. During the exhibition the artist created an installation composed by a big size print of the postcard, staged on a structure similar to a hanging. Michele Cantamessa was always present telling to the people about the writings on the walls, especially the one “Death to the Albanians”, which has been photographed and printed on the postcards offered to the audience. On this postcard has been written the question: Who do you want to die? The artist searched for the confrontation with the visitors, also trying to understand who was available to deliver it by post. I collected it but until now I never have sent it.
Questa cartolina è stata da me raccolta a ZooArt, Cuneo, nel 2006 e faceva parte del lavoro di Michele Cantamessa. Durante la mostra l’artista aveva creato un’installazione composta da una stampa della cartolina in grande formato, montata su una struttura simile ad una forca per l’impiccagione. Qui Michele Cantamessa era sempre presente e raccontava al pubblico come visitando i luoghi di “ZooArt” fosse rimasto molto colpito dalle scritte sui muri ed in particolare da quella recante la scritta “A morte gli albanesi”, che è stata poi fotografata e stampate sulle cartoline offerte al pubblico. Su questa cartolina era stata posta la domanda (Tu) Chi vuoi che muoia? A partire da questo l’artista cercava il confronto con il visitatore, anche cercando di capire chi sarebbe stato disposto ad inviarla via posta. Io la raccolsi ma non l’avevo mai inviata, fino ad ora.
